Toddler Learns Emotions. 婴孩学各种情绪。

The first time I met her, she showed me a grumpy face. The nurse was rocking her and said, "This little girl cries loudly. Congratulation!". The feeling of becoming a father for the first time was fantastic. While waiting for my wife, I guarded outside the ward. Giggled while looking at her, I was excited to have a beautiful daughter.

Growing up every day, she learns to drink, interact, roll, touch, crawl, sit, eat, stand, walk, play, run, talk, recognise, read etc. Watching her growing process is the most wonderful matter in my life.

One day my wife told me about a Youtube video of a kid demonstrating various kinds of emotions. Teaching 18 months toddler emotions might be challenging. However, I decided to give it a try. Every day I communicated with her and showed her these emotions. After two months approximately, she picked up a few emotions. The emotions are happy, sad, Ke Ai (means cute in Mandarin), angry, laugh and confuse. To watch the video please click the link below and I hope you will enjoy it.

How To Extinguish Peat Fires.

Peat fires are extremely difficult to eradicate. Peat fires penetrate deep into the ground and some cases at least 3 feet. Windy and hot weather contribute to the spreading of fires. Thousands of gallons of water is pumped, excavation of large area, manpower and equipment are required. In other words, cost. The worse case scenarios are death and damages of property.

How to stop peat fires?
1. Firebreak
Excavate ditches around the peat fires zone. Ditchwater will stop the fire from spreading. The width of the ditch is about 3 feet and the depth of water in the ditch is 1 foot. Ditchwater can be utilised as the water source for pumps, however, debris would be an obstacle. Another option is to construct a road to act as a barrier.

2. Water pumps
Pressurised water pumps are essential to ensure water able to penetrate into peat fires. 5 horsepower water pump, 1-inch diameter braid-reinforced PVC hose and a reducer would be adequate for a set of the water pump. The reducer is made of a steel pipe which the end is flattened according to the desirable opening.

3. Manpower
One set of pump requires 4 to 5 workers depending on the length of the hose. Personal protective equipment is indispensable, the peat fires zone is covered with smoke and the ground is hot.

4. Water source
Distant water source is a "nightmare" to extinguish peat fires. Transport of water using trucks is difficult and costly, however, this option has to be adopted. Hoping for rain is not an option, it would cause further damages.

We do not want peat fires to happen. I believe most cases of peat fires occur due to a certain irresponsible party, and not always naturally. For example, open burning and careless of human's activities. Education is the best solution and it has to be continued to prevent peat fires.

Restoran Heng Wang Fa (兴旺发海鲜饭店) - Seafood in Tanjung Piandang

It was a surprise to encounter this restaurant in Tanjung Piandang, Perak. Tanjung Piandang is a small town located appriximately 14km, Southwest of Parit Buntar, Perak. If you had tried seafood in Bukit Tambun, Pulau Pinang, you would be interested to find out this restaurant. However, it is quite a distance from the exit of North-South Highway.

The way of seafood preparation is common, don't expect exceptional cooking. It is all about the freshness of foods. Fish, prawn, mantis prawn, squid, stingray, crab etc. I was told the fish I had was barely two hours from the fishermen. Many fish lover prefers fresh fish to be steamed, at here, I recommend it to be fried. The freshness in the fried fish is irresistible. I didn't take the photos of foods, sorry, I was busy enjoying it.

There is a fried shrimp cake stall in front of the restaurant, you might want to try it as well.

How To Unlock Car Door Without Key. (My Experience)

It was Thursday morning and three days holiday to look forward. Arrived early at the office's car park, making sure I had my employee's card in the pocket, grabbed my laptop bag and manually locked my old Proton Wira. I only realised the car key was still in the ignition when I sat in my office chair. Without panic, I searched "How To Unlock Car Door Without Key" on YouTube. The methods encountered were using steel ruler, phone frequency, and string. Obviously phone frequency is the most convenient method. I tried this method with my wife, I concluded this method was not workable after 15 minutes of trial. Perhaps the alarm system is not functioning.

The next options were steel ruler and string. Luckily my colleague was assisting me and he got me a 1.5 metre long string. Applying string was tricky, it was not easy to tide the pin. Align the string left and right, finally, the pin was tided and the door was unlocked. The person who invented this method is a genius. Shoe lace can be used as well. Credit this to the inventor and thanks for saving me from unwanted expense.

This was the video I referred:

Sekinchan (Fish and Rice Town), Selangor, One Day Trip.

Sekinchan, Fish and Rice town.
Sekinchan is my close friend's hometown, therefore, he acted as our "Sekinchan trip tour guide". He suggested departure time at 7.30am from Klang to avoid congested traffic on Jalan Kapar. Weekend is the time for Malaysian folks to travel back to hometown (Balik Kampung) or go on holiday.

The travelling time was 1 hour 15 minutes approximately and we stopped at Red Harbor BBQ (烧而红) beside market (Pasar) for duck rice. Yummy!

1) Red Harbor BBQ (烧而红)
Location: Jalan Gereja, beside Restaurant Sheng Hui.

After finished breakfast, we bought a few fresh corns besides DaMaCai which my friends missed the first prize for 4D. Chinese sayings "hit the right numbers without hitting the prize".

May and November, one of the best month to visit Sekinchan. It is the time for rice harvesting. Yellowish ricefield, blue sky, white cloud, bright sun are the best scene for photo shooting.
